5K and Fun Run in Princeton’s Carnegie Center to benefit The Parkinson Alliance

KINGSTON, N.J., September 14, 2015 -- The Parkinson Alliance announced today that the 16th Carnegie Center 5K and Fun Run (CC5K) will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2015, in Princeton, New Jersey.  The road race offers a 5K course that is sanctioned by the USA Track & Field (USATF), a one mile fun run, and proceeds will go to support Parkinson’s disease research.

“Our CC5K is more than a run/walk—it unites the Central Jersey community to raise awareness and funding to support research for better treatments and hopefully one day, a cure,” explains Martin Tuchman, the Chairman of The Parkinson Alliance.

Carol Walton, CEO of The Parkinson Alliance invites all to “Support the Parkinson’s community by registering for the 5K or fun run with friends, family members and colleagues.  Race activities will include face painting, moon bounces, refreshments and door prizes.”

Awards will be given to top runners and teams and the King Award will be presented to the Bucks County Roadrunners Club (BCRR).  In addition to their passion for running, BCRR participates in this race as a way of supporting several members of their club who are living with Parkinson’s disease and yet, continue to run.  The King Award recognizes a group’s dedication and commitment to the Parkinson’s community and was created in memory of Joseph G. Fennelly, a generous philanthropist and long term volunteer of The Parkinson Alliance.

Sponsors allow event proceeds to go to research.  To date, the 2015 CC5K is supported by 48 sponsors, including Boston Properties who is the host of our fundraiser.
